Fuse Number Two!!

By metal bud • January 21st, 2010

my second Scovill Model 1907 fuse for the WWI shrapnel shells. i was able to disassemble and clean-out the first fuse too. it's a 21 second time and percussion fuse and you can lookup "No. 85 fuse" on wiki and it'll give you the diagrams of British copy of the same thing. ... metal detecting find scovill model 1907 fuse

By White1Hunter on January 22nd, 2010 at 12:26 am

cool that you have all the bits

u can call me/us by my psn: Taco1942.

i can make the vid anytime, just concerned with the noise level….. and my memory stick’s gone bad so i’ll have to get a new one.

Hey Tacome, do u think u could make a vid on the AWSM, weve been itcing to see it!, could u show us how a bolt action rifle works? just wondering……………. P.S. sry, the name sounds weird, we’re into this stuff anyway lol

Still thats a great find, we only found a flak shell all ripped up by the time its been there, you must be exploring im guessing what used to be a old Military outpost from the Cold War possibly, Maybe even a Army Training camp, Still an amazing find!

No problem tacome, just sayin man dont want to not have one of ur videos not come up because ur in jail, if your caught by a sheriff here your screwed, We were walkin home and a cop said look a kid with a backpack, wow my mom was so mad lol, just dont take it out of ur home man!

naa, i’m not going to sell these things, there’s just too many problems with “stuff” u have to do. but like what u said, the ownership is all wearied and screwy since technically, the base “sold” the property (including what’s in the ground) to the city, then the city sold “it” to private companies for residential construction, and so on…. what i’ll probably end up doing is after finding enough stuff, i might go donate it to local museum or back to the base (probably the best option). :)

Technically this stuff is all still property of the US Army. You know that, right? Even if they let it sit for decades, it still has value as scrap, and if they feel like it, they can go in and salvage that scrap, unlikely as that may seem. So understand that selling it isn’t the best idea. There are some pretty prominent cases of people ending up in jail or heavily fined for salvaging military scrap.

realy u should sell them and get alot of money dude ur awesome

By gangsta8450 on January 22nd, 2010 at 4:24 am

dyo think their old ?

at least 50-60 years old.

By spenfisher2 on January 22nd, 2010 at 5:32 am

you gota show a vid of where you found some of these

lol doesn’t that go for any other states? besides, it’s just components of what used to be artillery shell, like u cant really get in trouble for keeping a pull-ring from a grenade, its useless by itself. thanks tho :)

you do realize its illegal to have any explosive device materials in texas right? im in san an an my bro got 2 years for finding a flack fuse. just a heads up man!

thanks for the detailed explanaition

Good stuff man, I enjoy your videos. I wish you could make one while you’re actually metal detecting outside, that would be cool.
